Beat the Deadline: Reformat Your Cheques Now

In January 2008, a new Cheque Imaging process will be implemented in Canada. Cheques will be filled out and deposited the same way, but the clearing process will differ.  An image of the cheque will be transferred to the 'drawee' institution, rather than the physical cheque itself.

To prepare for the new system, cheques have to be standardized.  Businesses have until June 30, 2007 to make the changes.  Note that the deadline has been changed from December 2006 so that you have adequate time to make the changes.

To prepare your business for cheque imaging, first reorder your cheques.  When you receive the new cheques, verify whether or not any of the information on your Peartree software needs to be altered. You can do this by reprinting a small hold file of cheques on the new forms. Also, you will need to see if the date is in the same format indicated on the cheque form.

If any software changes are required, please send us one of your new cheque forms, or the template provided by your printing company, and we can quote the changes for you. We are able to install the cheque software changes on your test database at any time, then implement the changes on your live account when you start using the new cheques.

As with any software change, the earlier the better!

For more information on the new cheque specifications, go to www.cdnpay.ca. If you have any questions, please contact Bridget Behm at 519-743-2444 ext. 242 or at brb@ptsoft.com.

Our Customers Say . . .

On behalf of Drs. Jones, Scott, Kalbfleisch and Haley, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steve Stewart as a representative of Glenbriar Technologies for his exemplary service with respect to our computer support.

Glenbriar provides service to us in the area of IT requirements, implementation of new products, hardware, servers etc and on going support and maintenance of
our systems.

I have worked with Steve during the past five years but more closely over the past year since assuming the Practice Director role.  Steve has always been and continues to be a professional in every respect.  He is knowledgeable and very willing to share his knowledge in a manner any of our team members can understand.  No question is too small and Steve is always happy to see the interest we take in the service he provides.  He is passionate about his career and his enthusiasm is contagious.  Steve’s integrity is evident as he continually provides us with all our options and clearly outlines the advantages/disadvantages of choices we make.  He provides us with cost effective options and cautions us if we are heading in the wrong direction or contemplating options that exceed our needs.  Steve is prompt in returning our calls and quick to find solutions to our concerns.

To sum it up – we have the utmost trust in Steve, his abilities, his understanding and by extension, the company for whom he works.  It is often said that an organization is a reflection of the people who work within it.  Glenbriar Technologies is very fortunate to have Steve in their employ.
